Avesh Khan rules out of Asia Cup squad, Deepak Chahar replaces

India's swing star Deepak Chahar has replaced Avesh Khan in the squad for the remaining matches of the Asia Cup.

According to a report of a news agency, PTI has informed, "Team India pacer Avesh Khan has been ruled out for the remainder of Asia Cup 2022, and he has been replaced by Deepak Chahar."

Avesh Khan got a fever and was not fit to play two important matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. So the BCCI has decided to go with Chahar for the remaining matches. The right-handed swing bowler will look up to leaving his mark in the limited opportunities he would get in the continental tournament.

Chahar has been one of the most crucial assets of team India for the last few years. He was even the 2nd most expensive buy of the IPL 2022 auction. But due to a hamstring injury, Deepak was ruled out and had to take a long break.

Chahar showed his form after his comeback in the Zimbabwe series. He also has great records in the shortest format of the game including the haul of the famous 6 wickets. His fans will certainly wait for him to show his spark not only with the ball but also with the bat.

In 20 T20I matches, he has taken 26 wickets, compared to Avesh's 13 in 15 fixtures. So fans were upset beforehand for not selecting Chahar in the first place.

Eventually, it's not the first blow that India has received due to injury in this squad. Ravindra Jadeja was also ruled out of this tournament before and now another blow.

Though India's chance to proceed further in this tournament is not so promising after two successive losses against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Millions of Indian fans are expecting a miracle from here for the most successful team in this prestigious tournament.
