"He will go Past that…" - Sourav Ganguly on comparison between him and Virat Kohli

BCCI president and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly showered a pool of appreciation to Virat Kohli after the 33 years old better hit a century in the Asia Cup.

Indian star batsman Virat Kohli, at last, smashed his 71st ton against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup after a long wait of almost 3 years. Though India was eliminated from the tournament earlier, this knock from Virat won the hearts of every cricket lover.

Ganguly's statement:

Ganguly talked on the Youtube channel TRS Clips. There he told that Virat would have more appearance than him at the end of his career.

“The comparison should be in terms of skill as a player. I think he is more skilful than I’m. We played in different generations, and we played a lot of cricket. I played in my generation, and he will continue playing, probably playing more games than I did. At present moment, I have played more than what he has but he’ll get past that. He is tremendous,” said the BCCI president.

Ganguly's prediction regarding Virat's comeback from the lean patch came to reality as the batter was seen in brilliant form.

"He's a very big player, there for a long time. I know he has his own formula to score runs. It's not possible that players of his stature can't have such a long lean patch, I know he will definitely score runs. If he was not a great player, he would not have scored so many runs for so long," Ganguly had said in a media event in Kolkata.

"Yeah, the game is different, the game is faster... shorter and faster, more sixes, more boundaries, not many deliveries left outside the off stump. So the game has changed," said the 50-year-old former Indian captain while talking about the change that has occurred in the game from his time to the present.
